The Barwon Health Foundation’s current campaign, Project North, is a $2.5 million appeal to support healthier futures for residents in the northern suburbs of Geelong.

The first goal is to relocate the current public dental service at Barwon Health's Corio Community Health Centre to a new, bigger facility at Barwon Health North in Norlane.

Demand has been steadily increasing with population growth but infrastructure conditions prevent the needed expansion. The move will make it possible for up to an additional 5,000 people to receive urgent and necessary dental care each year.

Co-locating the community dental service with urgent care, renal dialysis, imaging and a child and family health service at Barwon Health North allows for ease of referrals among services.

The public dental service is free for children under 12 and adults who hold a healthcare or pension card.

It’s hoped the new facility will help recruit and retain the brightest minds to care for the community in the North.
