What is Barwon Health North?

Barwon Health North will be a new state-of-the-art flexible medical facility, providing public health services to people of all ages living in the northern suburbs of Geelong.

Where is Barwon Health North located?

Barwon Health North is located close to the corner of Cox Road and Princes Highway, Norlane. It will be built on a portion of the Northern ARC site that also houses the Waterworld Aquatic Centre, Corio Library and Centenary Hall.

Why was this site chosen?

The location was chosen as it offers easy road, public transport and pedestrian access for the community in the northern suburbs.

The decision to locate Barwon Health North at this site follows extensive community consultation and master planning.

What is the Northern ARC Health and Wellbeing Hub?

The Northern ARC Health and Wellbeing Hub would see the redevelopment of Waterworld and Centenary Hall into a precinct of contemporary, integrated community health and wellbeing services and facilities including; a 25-metre pool, hydrotherapy pool, learn to swim, gymnasium, a multipurpose community space, consulting suites, car parking and minor upgrades to the Corio Library.

Barwon Health North will share the site with the Northern Arc Health and Wellbeing Hub.

When will Barwon Health North open?

The official opening of Barwon Health North is expected in mid/late 2019.

What will happen to Barwon Health's Corio Community Health Centre?

Corio Community Health Centre will remain at the Corio Village Shopping Centre and will continue to deliver health services to the northern suburbs.
